Deacon Janet Amey

Through experiencing a developing relationship with God and the world, Janet felt the call into ministry in the Methodist Church. She trained as a Local Preacher, Chaplain and Pastor and worked as an outreach worker. Janet originates from Somerset, has a background in music and teaching. Janet has completed theological training in Ministry and Mission at The Queen's Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education in Birmingham where she continues to study – MA in Theology, Ministry and Mission. Janet preaches across the circuit and works in the town centre, at Tiviot Dale Methodist Church and on the CACTUS project.

Living in a relationship with God, creation and journeying in God's presence are important to Janet. As a Probationer Deacon, Janet follows the Diaconal Rule of Life and lives as part of the Methodist Diaconal Order. God being in the margins of the community and being alongside people is a focus of Janet's ministry in Stockport.
