United Stockport Circuit Mission Grant Application
Financial support is available in the form of grants for mission across the circuit. A Mission Grant Fund for mission related projects only, initially ring-fencing £150,000 from 1st September 2021 – 31st August 2026, is available to support new projects. The grant is for churches and/or projects within the United Stockport Circuit, projects supported can be under the oversight of a single church, two or more churches working together, or from a group across the circuit, including situations where there is ecumenical involvement.
Things to consider for your application:
What is the nature of your project?
Something new? Something exciting? Or an idea you would like to try? If you need support or advice, or would like to apply for a grant, ask your minister or church leader. Perhaps you have seen something elsewhere and would like to try it at your church?
Suggested areas that grants could be awarded for include: communications, social media and advertising, the environment, including working towards environmentally sustainability, being a church of the margins and other areas of mission.
Who supports your project?
Support for the project and the grant application from the Church Council or Leadership Team, or from across the circuit need to be evidenced. Capacity to offer appropriate governance and management of the project/member of staff needs to be demonstrated.
How much does your project cost?
A full budget for the entire duration of the project must be presented, showing where the grant falls within the overall expected spendings and income of the project. It will usually be expected that a local church will input something into the overall costs of the project from its own reserves.
How might your project develop?
Projects will be required to give updates on progress, detailing how the money has been used and reports from the Church Council if applicable. For ongoing projects, a member of the CLT not connected with the Church/project will visit from time to time and can offer support and advice.
The Grant Fund will be administered by the Circuit Leadership Team.
